The Outhouse

Part of being partly off the grid will be to have a composting toilet! It’s not as bad as some people think. See there are pit toilets which create an awful smell, but with composting toilets, the liquid portion is separated from the solid portion, so with proper usage and maintenance, that doesn’t happen at all.

The outhouse will be on the back deck, for easy access to both the cabin inhabitants, and anyone sleeping in the woods on the tent platform!

The Toilet

We obtained an unused Envirolet MS-10 from craigslist for a good deal, but have yet to hook it up… for that we’re waiting for our upcoming electricity connection!
